The Hendo 2.0

Who don't see "Back to the future" and wish to have a skateboard like the film, that can levitate. Well this technology is not so far away.
The hoveboard called Hendo use a technology what is known "Magnetic Field Architecture". This new invention is the result of a collaboration with skateboard maestro Tony Hawk. The explanation how work this invention for levitate according Greg Henderson, co-founder and CEO of Arx Pax, the company behind the invention: "The hover engine creates a primary magnetic field which is then put over a candidate surface like aluminum or copper. The hover engine then creates swirls of electricity and those create a secondary magnetic field, which propels the firsts." The co-founders think that this technology can be so useful in many sectors of the industry.

200-year-old fossil mystery resolved

News link

A virtual model of the reptile was constructed from a German plesiosaur known as MeyerasaurusHow the plesiosaur might have looked

Called plesiosaurs are predatory marine reptiles that lived at the time of the dinosaurs. The plesiosaur was discovered by the fossil hunter Mary Anning in 1821. Scientists have reconstructed this ancient reptile.
On the last years the scientists tried to know how this reptile moves. The debate has continued until today, because the paleontologists were divided on whether the marine creature used its four limbs for rowing like turtles and penguins or some sort of combination of the two. The study, published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, is based on a computer simulation of a Jurassic fossil from Germany. This simulation suggest that the plesiosaur moved through the water like a penguin, using its front limbs as paddles and back limbs for steering.
Dr Smith and co-researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta say: "We conclude that plesiosaurs were forelimb-dominated swimmers that used their hind limbs mainly for manoeuvrability and stability."

This Super Stylish Smartwatch Was Designed for the Blind

News link

Students and entrepreneurs from the United States and South Korea has developed a smartwatch for the blind. This smartwatch is called Dot and can show four braille characters at a time. Each character space has six active pins that rise and fall to produce the combinations of the braille alphabet and numerical system.
The watch connects vie Bluetooth to a smartphone and uses a actuator powered by magnets to raise and lower the pins. Dot can shows texts, notifications, tweets and the time. If the user recive notifications this machine will vibrate. Before this new invention the blind people only can use smarthphones with vocal systems like Siri to read texts out loud.
You can start to buy Dot in the United States and Canada sometime in 2016 for $300, more cheaply than the existing braille machines.
This will be so helpful for the social life of blind people, but I don't think that is extremely necessary for a person.

Virtual reality

Currently the virtual reality is on the top the of innovation in the entertainment industry and many enterprises (like HTC, Sony, Microsoft and Facebook) are interested in this and they invest a lot of money to be the first. But now a days not all the people can buy this because for the moment it isn't on the market. When you play with any machine of virtual reality, you can see thanks a special glasses a new world (the world of the video game that are you playing). When you move the head the glasses detect this movement and move the screen that you see with the same direction and movement that you move your head. Fortunately this technology is very investigate and on less than a year this virtual reality will be on the market, but no one knows the price of this.

Hunger games mockingjay-part 2

The film is the second part of the third film of the trilogy of The Hunger Games. It's important that you saw the others films, because if you didn't see the others, you don't know the beginning and the story, or the other possiblility is read the books. The story continues with Katniss in the sector 13. They are preparing the war against the Capitol. At first katniss only help the sector 13 with her image, because she is the symbol of the revolution, and when the soldier see him they are more encouraged. Katniss was wishing that the sector 13 rescue Peeta and the other tributes, but when they return her best friend, discover that the Capitol manipulated Peeta to use him like a weapon against Katniss. For this reason she decide go with the soldiers because she wants to kill the president Snow, the leader of the Capitol. During the way to go to the President's mansion, she and her troop's colleagues, they had to pass a lot of enemies and taps, and most of them died. Finally the sector 13 wins and capture Snow. When Katniss was on the square to kill the president Snow with an arrow, but he discover that the bombing who killed her sister was produced by the sector's 13 forces and not by the Capitol's forces, and she diced to kill the sector's 13 leader. This means that she had to leave to her house where she and Peeta created a new life.
This film is better than the last but it isn't the best. Principally because the third book it isn't more good thant the first or the second, in my opinion. But is a good film because is exactly or quite exatly than the book and I enjoy it.

Google

For my this presentation has two good things, the presentation and the content. Because if you see it, you can observe that I put a good bit of time. And the content have quite information that it's possible that you did know before. Also the language was difficult for me because this is varied and specific for this topic. But the downside of the presentation was my body language and eye contact, because unfortunately I needed to read all, and my pronunciation some times wasn't good.

Garbage islands

Currently exist five islands of garbage that each contains a large amount of tons of plastic. The first island discovered was in 1997 in the Pacific Ocean. But is not the only one because also exist more islands on the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The biggest island measure more than 1500000 km2.
They are formed by trash and waste from continental areas and also some part of the ships. All of this trash join together by vortex of ocean currents. Unfortunately these islands are moving all the time by this ocean currents, and pollute and destroy the marine ecosystems. The animals eat the trash and die, and the sun with the trash release toxins and kill the animals too. The last consequence is that the seaweeds don't receive the enough light for do the photosynthesis

Email to the teacher

I have not studied much for any subject so far, I haven't made the effort. I only had to listen to understand the lessons. But batxillerat is another story.
In this moment the unique objective thaht I can think for the future is the university, and I wish to live that experience and enjoy it. But the problem is on 2 batxillerat, because I can't focus too much in any subject and this is a big problem for now and for the future and I think that I can't overcome batxillerat without some difficulty. Another dificculty during this years is the Research Paper, because the topic that I chose is boring and I don't enjoy when I do the work.

Charlie Charlie Challenge

I can see this challenge on youtube many times on many videos of famous or not famous people.
Many videos have become viral, and this challenge, as many people say, invoke the demon of Charlie Charlie. The challenge is about to put two pencils, one above the other perpendicular on a paper that is divided into four parts (two of YES and two of NO), then, you make questions of YES or NO to the supposed spirit. Personally I think it's very false, and I find it shameful that most of people have won millions of visitors on his videos about this challenge.
Several scientists say that the only fact that makes to move the pencil is the gravity, because it's very difficult that the two pencils are perfectly in balance, or even the most minimum breath can makes to move it.

Quadriplegic Woman Moves Robot Arm With Her Mind

quadriplegic uses mind-controlled prosthetic

Jan Scheuermann suffers from spinocerebellar degeneration, a genetic disease where connections between the brain and muscles slowly deteriorate. She is now tetraplegic, meaning that she is paralyzed from the neck down. She saw a video where a man could tetraplegic a robotic arm with a screen of a computer, so she also wanted to try.
The scientists developed microelectrode arrays that connect brain cells to electronic circuitry. They scanned Scheuermann's brain to determine exactly where to put these electronics. One week after of the operation, Scheuermann was adapt quickly to the prosthesis and controled it by her mind.
In a few years this will mean that anyone with a disability that prevents them using their extremities, could do things with less aid that currently, like this, will not need someone that help them during 24 hours a day.

Review: The hobbit: the battle of the five armies

This film is the third part of the trilogy of The Hobbit. It's important that you saw the others films, because if you didn't see the others, you don't know the beginning and the story.
The story continue with the dwarfs in Erebor. They are preparing for a battle against an army of elves led by King Thranduil, which seeks part of the treasure of dwarfs. But they are only thirteen dwarfs against thousands of soldiers. Meanwhile Bardo is defending the human village against Smaug (the dragon). After killing the dragon, the village was burned, people had to take refuge in Erebor. Bardo also wanted to claim part of the treasure of dwarfs, because part of this is pertinent of they. When the battle was to begin the army of dwarves appears. But soon after, a large army of orcs appears to kill all of them, for this reason humans, elves and dwarves join their forces to fight the orcs. When the orcs were ready to win the giant eagles appears, but meanwhile Azog and Thorin are fighting but finally kill each other. Finally the battle is won and orcs are annihilated, Bilbo says goodbye and returns to his home.
I expected much this film, because I keen on the two previous films. But I was disappointed because it has too many failures in the argument. For example, few animals appears for help the dwarfs, but during the film haven't said anything about them. Another example when Bilbo kills orcs only with stones in the head, and a few other things that suggest that the film was made quickly.

We have made the world a better place. Do you agree?

The world is not a good place for everybody. In my opinion, if we can make it a good place for everybody, the people will change.
First, only few countries have the 80% of the resources of the world, like USA or Eurepoean countries. And other hundreds and hundreds countries only have the 20% of the resouces. This makles a big unequality betwen countries and people.
Second, the mosts powerful enterprises in the world have become richers and riches by the work of the poor people of the underdeveloped countries.
Third, and the most important, the people don't have knowledge about the dangerous of this capitalism society. Because the people consume amnd consume and don't stop. And one day the resources will be finished.
In conclusion, we haven't made the world a better place yet.

Stare to Unlock: This Phone Scans Your Iris

News link

Are you sick of that unblock the mobile with difficult passwords or digital fingerprint that be difficult to detect. Well, Fujitsu has created a prototype of a phone that is unlocked with your iris, thanks to a infrared cameras.
According to the creators, although the demo can not do it, in the final product, the software can recognize your eyes, even if you use contact lenses or glasses. The iris scan authentication provides a method much better and more faster than the reading of fingerprint or facial recognition.
Currently there is no model of phone that have this camera, but it is expected that in recent years these can appear.

This can be very useful, because now the modes of unlock mobile aren't very secure. For example if you use digits can be discovered and fingerprints aren't useful because if the button is a little dirty be difficult to detect.

Shrimp shells could provide biodegradable plastic alternative

News link

For many people "plastic" it means pollution, because it's a material created from oil and take much time to degrade.
Researchers at Harvard’s Wyss Institute have introduced a new bioplastic isolated from shrimp shells. It’s made from chitosan, a form of chitin. This material is cheap and easy to manufacture for a new method that retains strong mechanical properties of chitosan. The researchers say can be used to make large objects with complex shapes. Once unusable this breaks down into weeks and even can be useful for plants.

I think that if this is done can bring something very good and very bad. The first is that pollution produced from plastics will be reduced, also the oil consumption, as well as this material "favour the plants" according to the researchers say. But the downside is that this will mean a massive fishing of this animal, which result in a progressive extinction of this, and depending how fished this, imply a destruction of ecosystems in which it is located.

Ubisoft’s therapeutic video game Dig Rush treats ‘lazy eye’

News link

Dig Rush helps treat Lazy Eye.

Ubisoft has joined with Amblyotech to create Big Rush, a game developed by researchers at McGill University in Montreal. This game is part of a trend that's "games for health", which are used to treat health problems. According to its creators the game has a 90% effective.

Recently, the video games aren't only for to play, but as you have seen with this game, these can go a step further and be useful to people. I think this is the beginning, and as a continuation of this will begin to design or consider if the gaming industry of video games can be useful for solving certain health problems.

My favourite video game

The discussion among people to decide what is the best game or the best series of games lasts a long time. But I think that deciding which is your favorite game is as personal as your favorite food.
Personally I think that the best video game company are Rockstar with Grand Theft Auto, Bioware with Dragon Age and Naughty dog with Uncharted, because these dedicate a great work to his games, and neither overexploite their series game for getting all the money possible, as do Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed or Activision with Call of Duty.
The shooters games don't keen on very much, because they are very repetitive and monotonous with maps already marked, where you can not explore. For this reason I prefer roll games because the story is better and they are also quite free to explore.
